In 2021 Kessiah discovered Aardman’s Academy and took both Stop Motion I and Stop Motion II courses. Here she learnt the basic fundamentals of how to animate characters and bring them to life, from basic movements to more complex facial expressions, lip sync and the art of capturing thought.

— PONDERING POTATOES —

In 2022 she introduced people to the world of potatoes and what they’re really thinking with her second animated short film ‘Pondering Potatoes’ (2022) as her final piece for Stop Motion II. The potatoes are voiced by fellow artists Justin ‘Styles’ Pitkethly and John ‘Chop’ Slater’ who provided original unscripted dialogue for the film. Having just entered the festival circuit it has already been selected by 6 international festivals, won a silver award and 3 honourable mentions.

— STOP MOTION: THE MAKING OF —

She produced her first animated short film ‘Stop Motion: The Making Of’ (2021) as her final piece for Stop Motion I starring Steve the Test Dummy voiced by George Tsaknis. After it’s first private screening she was encouraged to enter the film into festivals. It was selected by 42 international film festivals and received 11 awards, including best animation, best idea, awards of excellence, merit and numerous honourable mentions. Steve and his antics were viewed in various festivals across the USA, Canada, Europe and even Hong Kong and Australia.
